Here is the status for the 2011 independent baseball leagues’ playoffs structure through games played on September 3, 2011:

American  Association:

  • Grand Prairie leads Wichita 2-1 in the best of 5 series.  Game 4 to be played tonight in Wichita
  • St. Paul leads Winnipeg 2-1 in the best of 5 series. Game 4 to be played tonight in St. Paul
  • Championship series starts September 7

Atlantic League:

  • Regular season goes through September 18

Can-Am League:

  • Regular season goes through tomorrow, September 5

Frontier League:

  • Starting September 7, Southern Illinois will play at River City (best of 5)
  • Starting September 7, the East Division wild card team will play at Joliet (best of 5

North American League:

  • Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings clinched berth in championship series, will play in Canada next week
  • Edmonton leads Calgary 3-2 in a best of 7 series.  Winner hosts Rio Grande Valley next week for 2011 NABL championship

Pecos League:

  • Roswell Invaders won first-ever Pecos League championship
