Bridgeport WV Officials Optimistic About Frontier League Stadium For 2014

Bridgeport, West Virginia officials are optimistic that a new stadium will begin construction in the next 90 days and be ready for use by a Frontier League team in 2014.  The land owner is working with city officials and ownership from the Washington Wild Things (Frontier League) to bring this new city into the league.  No word yet exists on a start date for groundbreaking on the new facility.

To clarify for some independent baseball fans who have asked, this stadium scenario is different than the one being proposed for the Frontier League in Parkersburg, WV.  More on that situation can be found here:

Should that stadium come to fruition then it would be the second time that the Frontier League has been in Parkersburg.  The first time was from 1993-1998 when the Ohio Valley Redcoats played there.  The team was revived in 2005 but did not play in the same city.
