More On The Freedom League And Pacific Association Inter-League Play

A recent article on Examiner.com features a deeper look on the side of the Freedom Pro Baseball League’s involvement with the new Pacific Association teams.  It discusses the breakdown of the inter-league play, and there are quotes from both leagues’ executives:  Joe Sperle and Eugene Lupario.  Also of interest is the belief that the Freedom League will expand to 6 teams including the possible Western Wranglers and Grand Canyon Pioneers.

  1. You didn’t read the article accurately! The other two teams that were being considered for expansion next year are being tabled.

    This consolidation is silly, however. The Freedom should have considered joining forces with the American West instead, even though there may still be some bad blood left over in dealing with the former Golden League execs. Too bad the Canada teams were lost, although starting a franchise in Fort McMurray Alberta is crazy!
