Tucson Toros No Longer An Independent Baseball Team

Due to the San Diego Padres affiliate coming to Tucson last year, the Tucson Toros independent baseball team took a “hiatus” after playing in the Golden League in 2010.  This led to a dispute over the team’s stadium as well as speculation as to whether the team would return to the North American League in 2012.

After agreeing to a settlement with the city of Tucson, the Toros closed up shop and will no longer be a team:
