Independent Baseball Stolen Base Record

The Winnipeg Sun posted an article that Goldeyes’ outfielder, Fehlandt Lentini, stole has 332nd base in the ranks of independent baseball.  They are reporting that this makes him the all-time stolen base leader in the history of independent baseball (1993 incarnation to the present).

Here is the article:

All-time records in independent baseball are difficult as some of the early seasons don’t have proper records; and few attempts have been made to compile the records across multiple seasons where players may have played in more than one league.  We will check on this and, should there be a factual error, then we will mention it.

In the meantime, congratulations to Lentini on a career-long accomplishment which is significantly more difficult to achieve than most fans may realize.

  1. I think the single season record is still held by Billy Hall who played for the Somerset Patriots. He was unstoppable as I saw in person often. he lit up the AL basepaths for at least a couple of years…in his 30’s!

But I’m open to correction and education if this mark is held by another.
