Also of interest in the article is that the St. Paul Saints (American Association) recently sold their 100th player contract to a Major League organization.  The Saints are one of the last remaining independent baseball teams since the 1993 inception of independent baseball, along with the Sioux City Explorers and the Sioux Falls Pheasants (named the Canaries through 2009).
