First Female Pro Baseball Player Of The 21st Century?

Here is an article about Eri Yoshida, the 18 year-old female knuckleball pitcher who pitched in the developmental Arizona Winter League.  She is signed to a pro contract with the Chico Outlaws of the Golden League:

Congratulations to Eri and we hope that the challenges she faces in 2010 are few.  Since the 21st century started in 2001, with Ila Borders last pitching in 2000, Eri is poised to become the first female professional baseball player of the 21st century.

  1. Please send me a scdule of your home games.
I have a Japanese guest who would like to see
Yoshida pitch. If you know when she might be in the
    rotation, please indicate.

    Thank You.

    • Dave,

Thank you for your comment. The official schedule of the 2010 Golden League season, including the Chico Outlaws, can be found at http://www.goldenbaseball.com or the Chico Outlaws site. If she makes the team then it will be the manager’s decision if she is in the rotation or the bullpen; and if it is the latter then it is difficult to determine when she might be playing so that your guest could see her in action. Nonetheless, your friend should visit early in the season should Yoshida make the team out of spring training.

      Hope this helps!
