It appears that Joliet will be in the Frontier League in 2011, although that has yet to be officially confirmed by all parties:
The team announced a new general manager, former GM for the Fort Worth Cats John Dittrich. Evidently the purchase by the new owners was for the lease rights to Silver Cross Field in Joliet and some of the Jackhammers assets; but the team name, mascot, and other “Jackhammers”-specific items are not part of the purchase.
The North American League, of which the Joliet Jackhammers were supposed to be a part, has not said if they have a replacement for Joliet should the team playing at Silver Cross Field in 2011, indeed, be a part of the Frontier League. In addition, the Frontier League now would be at 13 teams for 2011; and there is no mention of a 14th team (or travel team) to balance out the 2011 schedule.
Once all of this information becomes confirmed then it will be posted on this site. In addition, once everything is finalized with the teams and alignment for 2011 then the updates on the “Teams”, “Players”, “Tickets”, and other pages on this site will be made.
