TRAVERSE CITY, MI – Jake Fisher picked up his eighth win of the year, going eight innings to defeat the Traverse City Beach Bums as the Bolts pulled away late for a 7-2 win at Wuerfel Park Friday night. Both teams were unable to capitalize on early chances as the ThunderBolts (44-37) left four men on base in the first four innings and Traverse City (31-48) stranded one in each of the first three. The Bums broke through on two fourth-inning doubles to start the scoring. Nick Murphy knocked in Luke Lowery. The ThunderBolts answered immediately with two in the fifth. Blair Beck started the rally with a single. Keenyn Walker followed with a double and Coco Johnson knocked them both in with a single. They added to the lead with two more runs in the seventh. Johnson hit a leadoff triple and when the throw to third sailed into the dugout, Johnson came in to score. Kyle Wood followed with a double and Larry Balkwill singled him home to make the lead 4-1.
