SAUGET, Ill.– The Gateway Grizzlies in association with Regions Bank will honor the men and women who protect and serve the community with their Stand Up for Blue Night happening on Wednesday, May 24. The team is making this night a tribute to the police officers in the Metro East and Greater St. Louis area. The Grizzlies will honor two well respected police officers from the St. Louis area: Terry Delaney and Mike Flamion. Delaney is a former member of the Washington Park Police Department, the East St. Louis Police Department, Illinois State Police, and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department. Flamion spent seven years with the De Soto Police Department before starting work in Ballwin. On July 8, 2016 Mike was shot in the neck in the line of duty. He was paralyzed from the neck down. 50% of all tickets purchased on May 24th will go to BackStoppers and the St. Louis County Police Welfare Assocation. The BackStoppers have helped the Flamion family, as well as many other families in the St. Louis area. All fans who purchase a ticket for this night will get a discount.
