A strong bullpen performance and a three run home run from Mike Jurgella led the way for the River City Rascals to win their sixth game in a row and sweep the Windy City ThunderBolts, 8-6, Sunday afternoon at CarShield Field. The Rascals entered the day one game back of the final wild card spot and leave their home field holding the tiebreaker over the Normal CornBelters, meaning if the playoffs began today the Rascals would be in. “We are feeling good right now, we come here early every day to get our work in and as a result we have a pretty squad here. We truly believe that and we know that we have to keep playing well to make the playoffs,” Mike Jurgella said. Looking for the series sweep, the Rascals got on the scoreboard first with a RBI double from Josh Silver against ThunderBolts right-hander Tyler Murphy. On the mound for the Rascals was right-hander Tim Koons and he gave up a run of his own on a solo home run to fifth place hitter Corey Bass. That was the only hit Koons gave up through the first two frames but then he got into some trouble…
