SAUGET, Ill. – Rascal Dan Ludwig and Crusher Sean Hurley have been named Week 11 Frontier League Pitcher and Player of the Week as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation. Dan Ludwig found his groove when the River City Rascals hosted the Traverse City Beach Bums on July 21. Ludwig shut down the Traverse City offense when he pitched a complete game-shutout and totaled ten strikeouts. He surrendered just eight hits and walked one. Dan recorded two strikeouts in each of the first, second and fourth innings. To add to his impressive feat, he struck-out All-Stars and former Players of the Week, Will Kengor and Steven Patterson with two strikeouts apiece. The 13-0 game was his lone start on the week. Ludwig is in his third season in the Frontier League, second with the Rascals. The Naperville native has moved to a 5-1 record in twelve starts and currently has a 3.12 ERA (7th overall).
