Left-handed pitcher Billy Waltrip was the first selection in the 2016 Frontier League draft. Waltrip, who was selected by the Normal CornBelters, previously was in the Colorado Rockies’ organization. Colorado selected him in the 12th round of the 2012 MLB draft out of the University of Oklahoma.
