SAUGET, Ill. – The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy, won their second straight against the Gateway Grizzlies, 5-2, on Thursday night. The Crushers (6-6) won their second series of the season while the Grizzlies (3-9) are yet to take a three-game set in 2017.   Once again, the Crushers plated a run in the first inning. Parker Norris opened the game with a single up the middle. After back-to-back flyouts, Connor Oliver connected for a single on a hit and run that sent Norris from first to third. Sean Hurley drew a walk in the next at bat, and the fourth ball bounced past catcher Lou Ianotti, bringing in Norris for the 1-0 lead.   Lake Erie tallied two more in the top of the third inning. Norris knocked his second leadoff single of the night, and Jordan Dean hit a moonshot over the wall in left to give the Crushers a 3-0 advantage.   The Crushers extended their lead again in the fifth. Norris led off with a walk, moving from first to third on Cody Lenahan’s single. Oliver and Hurley followed up with consecutive RBI singles to bring in Norris and Lenahan for a 5-0 lead.  …
