Crushers Announce Cleveland Sports Legends Softball Game

AVON, OH– The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy, announced today plans for a “Cleveland Sports Legends Softball game”, to be played at Sprenger Health Care Stadium on Saturday June 17th at 7:05pm.  Four former Cleveland Indians legends and at least one former Cleveland Brown will return to the field for the Cleveland Sports Legends Softball game which will be presented by Ray’s Auto and Our Lady of the Wayside. Among those playing in the game will be: Former Indians 2nd Baseman Carlos Baerga.   The former All-Star played eight of his 14-year Major League career with the Indians. While in Cleveland he was a three-time American League All-Star and a two-time Silver Slugger Award Winner. Baerga was part of two American League Central Division Championship teams in 1995 and 1996.  He was instrumental in helping the team to the American League pennant and a trip to the World Series in 1995. Former Indians Outfielder Ellis Burks. Burks compiled an 18-year Major League career, playing three years for Cleveland between 2001 – 2003.  The 2002 season was Burk’s most productive in a Tribe uniform when he had 32 Home Runs with 91 Runs Batted In and a .301 batting average.
