Joining the Lake Erie Crushers on the field during the 2018 season will be newly signed Doug Trimble, DJ Martinez, Brett Balkan and Matt Dacey. Doug Trimble: Went to the University of Delaware where he played all four years Utility player From Rosemont, Pennsylvania DJ Martinez Went to Newberry College in South Carolina where he played for two years Played for the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers of the United Shore League in 2016 and 2017 Played in the California Winter League in 2017 for the champion New York Colonials Infielder From Montpelier, Virginia Brett Balkan Went to Cal State University, Northridge where he played for three years Last year he played for the Utica Unicorns of the United Shore League after being traded by the Florence Freedom Infielder From Carlsbad, California Matt Dacey Went to the University of Richmond where he played for three years Was drafted his junior year by the Tampa Bay Rays Played for the Hudson Valley Renegades of the New York-Penn League from 2015 to 2017 Infielder From Wychoff, New Jersey
