AVON, Ohio — The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy, scored 14 times on 18 hits and received a complete game shutout from Juan Caballero at Sprenger Health Care Stadium on Friday night, as they defeated the Schaumburg Boomers in convincing fashion in a 14-0 victory. The win for the Crushers (36-38) was their fourth in their last five games, while the loss for the Boomers (53-23) brought a seven game winning streak to an end. After Juan Caballero (5-2) struck out the side in the top of the first inning, the Lake Erie offense went to work, scoring three times on three hits to take an early 3-0 lead. Back-to-back singles from L.J. Kalawaia and Jordan Dean started the inning, and they both came around to score on Cody Lenehan’s bases loaded double off the wall in right. Austin O’Brien capped the big inning with a sac fly RBI to score Sean Hurley. Lake Erie used the long ball to add two to their lead in the bottom of the second. Bryan De La Rosa started the inning with a single to left field, and made his way to second on a balk, before Jordan Dean brought him home…
