The 2016 Frontier League Organization of the Year Schaumburg Boomers and Manager Jamie Bennett announced the additions of RHP Richard England, RHP Evan Raynor and RHP Cody Culp for the 2017 season. Additionally, the Schaumburg Boomers have traded OF/1B Paul Kronenfeld to the New Britain Bees of the Atlantic League. England, 23, joins the Boomers after completing his collegiate career at the University of Illinois – Springfield. The Centerville, Iowa native appeared in 20 games in 2016 for the Prairie Stars and lead the team in saves (11). England only allowed opposing batted to hit .229 against. Prior to his two year career at the University of Illinois – Springfield, England transferred from Marshalltown Community College in Iowa. Culp, 23, joins the Boomers on a trade with fellow Salivi Sports owned Gary SouthShore RailCats of the American Association. Culp spent the 2016 season with the Texas AirHogs, having appeared in 23 games. Prior to his time in the American Association, Culp led the University of Hawai’i bullpen with 31 mound appearances while logging a 3-1 record and a 2.16 ERA.
