WASHINGTON, PA – The Traverse City Beach Bums’(37-47) and Washington Wild Things(42-42) opened this week’s three game series by sharing a doubleheader. The Beach Bums won game 1 in ten innings, 6-5, then Washington took the nightcap, in the regulation seven innings, 9-7.   Washington started the night off with a solo home run by Rocky Rodriguez, his seventh of the season, in the first inning. The Beach Bums took the lead for the first time in the third. Marcos Derkes reached base after a wild pitch strikeout, then stole second. Will Kengor drove him in with an RBI double, then scored himself when Steven Patterson doubled. Washington took the lead back in the fifth, on a Grant Fink two-run double, making it 3-2.   In the top of the sixth, it was Traverse City’s turn to take the lead. Gaby Juarbe led off by getting hit by a pitch, then scored on an RBI triple by Jeff DeBlieux. Derkes followed with a single up the middle to plate DeBlieux, giving the Bums the lead. In the bottom of the frame, Chris Grayson hit his fourth homer of the year, a solo shot to right, tying the game. In the ninth,…
