TRAVERSE CITY, MI – The Traverse City Beach Bums(24-32) overcame an early deficit to hang on and defeat the  Normal Cornbelters(27-30), by a final score of 4-3. For the third straight night, Normal took an early 1-0 lead after the top of the first. Tonight, it was an Aaron Dudley RBI single that scored the run. Orlando Rivera led off the bottom of the inning with a double, the first hit of his pro career. Jeff DeBlieux and Will Kengor each followed with walks to load the bases. Then, on a 3-2 pitch, Alexi Rivera rocketed a grand slam over the right field wall, giving the Bums a 4-1 lead. In the 3rd, Normal cut into the Bums’ advantage when Miguel Torres hit a two-run double into the right field gap to pull the ‘Belters within one. From there, both teams would not threaten again, combining for three hits in the final six innings. Kramer Champlin picked up the win tonight, going six innings and allowing three runs, spreading out 11 hits, walking one ,and he fanned two. He improves to 6-3. Normal starter, Edgar de la Rosa drops to 1-3 after going seven innings, and giving up four runs on five hits.…
