CRANE TABBED AS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Photo Credit: Sussex County Miners DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that Sussex County Miners INF Connor Crane (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending July 8. Crane hit .391 (9-for-23) this week, and added a triple, four RBI, two stolen bases, and six runs scored to his line. The Parker, Colo. resident began his week on Monday against the New Jersey Jackals at home. In a 5-3 Sussex County win, Crane was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. The Miners won again on Tuesday, taking a 6-4 decision behind a hit, stolen base, and run scored from Crane. Sussex County completed a series sweep on Independence Day by winning 4-1 at Skylands Stadium. In the Wednesday game, Crane had a hit and was hit by a pitch. Crane’s only hitless game of the week occurred on Friday in a Sussex County loss to the Quebec Capitales. Quebec wrapped up a series win on Saturday with an 8-7 nail-biting win, but Crane was 2-for-4 with a triple, walk, RBI and two runs scored in his team’s loss.
