SAINTS DEFEAT DOGS IN 15-INNING MARATHON

St. Paul 2, Chicago 1 (15 Innings) – Box Score Shortstop Chris Baker singled home LF/SS Blake Schmit with the game winning run in the bottom of the 15th inning as St. Paul defeated Chicago, 2-1. With the victory, the Saints go three games up on the Dogs for the second spot in the North Division. Schmit was hit by a pitch to leadoff the inning. The next batter, CF Dan Motl, came up and sacrificed Schmit over to second base with one out. After RF Michael Lang flew out to center field for the second out, DH Brady Shoemaker was intentionally walked. Baker then came to the plate and singled to right field to bring Schmit in from second base and give St. Paul the walk-off win. Saints 3B Chesny Young went 2-for-5 with an RBI while Shoemaker and Lang each collected a pair of hits. St. Paul pitcher…
