AUGUST 26 RECAPS St. Paul 4, Lincoln 3- Box The Saints held off a furious charge from the Saltdogs, who scored all three runs in the bottom of the ninth, and took a 4-3 win. 1B David Bergin hit a solo home run in the second inning for the Saints, and that run would hold up until the eighth. CF Alonzo Harris hit an RBI single to extend the lead to 2-0, and he stole second and scored on an error to account for the game’s third run. In the ninth, 3B Nate Hanson added what turned out to be an important insurance run with a solo home run. RHP Mark Hamburger (pictured) picked up the win with 8.1 innings of work, striking out eight. He was pulled with a 4-1 lead, but Lincoln DH Curt Smith greeted Saints RHP Ryan Rodebaugh with a two-run home run. Rodebaugh was able to settle in and picked up the last two outs for the save.
