GOLDEYES FORCE GAME FIVE IN 17-INNING MARATHON

Winnipeg 4, Wichita 3 (Game 4/17 Innings – Series tied, 2-2) – Box Right fielder David Rohm doubled home 2B Casey Turgeon with the game winning run in the bottom of the 17th inning as the Goldeyes defeated the Wichita Wingnuts, 4-3 to force a game five in the American Association Championship Series. Wichita carried a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the ninth only for Winnipeg to plate a run and force extra innings. This contest turned out to be the longest game by time in American Association history at 5 hours, 59 minutes. The Goldeyes had 11 hits in the contest and was led by Rohm and Turgeon who each  had 3-for-7 nights at the plate. Winnipeg 3B  Wes Darvill  chipped in with a pair of hits in six at-bats and scored a run. Goldeyes pitcher Zack Dodson tossed two scoreless innings of relief to notch the victory. Dodson allowed two hits and struck out three in the eight batters that he faced. In total, 15 pitchers were used by the two teams in the game.
