Updates On Western Canadian Independent Baseball Business

Two articles came out this week about the potential for independent professional baseball in Western Canada in the upcoming years.  The first was Ballpark Digest’s synopsis of the situation and the other was the approval of funds for development of a new baseball stadium in Fort McMurray, Canada.

Of interest is that several Central/Western Canadian markets had independent pro baseball in some form since the 1993 inception of independent leagues.  Those markets include:

  • Brandon
  • Calgary
  • Edmonton
  • Kelowna
  • Moose Jaw
  • Regina
  • Saskatoon
  • Surrey
  • Victoria
  • West Manitoba

As more develops on this topic it will be posted on the site.
