This weekend, the St. Paul Saints won the American Association league championship, sweeping the Sioux City Explorers in the best-of-5 series. Additionally, the New Jersey Jackals defeated the Sussex County Miners in Game 4 of the best-of-5 championship series for the Can-Am League’s title. Both teams have been added to the list of historical independent professional minor league baseball league champions (since the 1993 inception of independent pro baseball) at this page:

It is the Saints’ first championship in the American Association since the league started in 2006. The Saints’ previous league championships were in 1993 (Northern League), 1995 (Northern League), 1996 (Northern League) and 2004 (Northern League).
