The Schaumburg Boomers won game 2 of the best-of-5 Frontier League championship series last night.  They lead the series 2-0, defeating the Lake Erie Crushers 7-5.

Game 3 will be played tomorrow night in Avon, Ohio – home of the Crushers.

Of interest, should Schaumburg win it perhaps will be the first time in the modern version of independent baseball (since 1993) that an ownership group will have led two different league championships in the same season.  Here are the ownership pages for the Boomers and the Gary Southshore RailCats, who won the American Association title a few days ago:
