Ryan Powell To Manage Trinidad Triggers

The Trinidad Triggers (Pecos League) named Ryan Powell as the team’s new player-manager, replacing Justin Lowery.  According to the Pecos League’s website, the team was spiraling out of control with the players instigating fights and celebrating after injuring an opposing player:

Powell has been involved with independent baseball since 2008, missing the 2010 season due to an injury.  He was in the Continental Baseball League (Texarkana Gunslingers and the Big Bend Cowboys), the Can-Am League (New York Federals), and served as the player-manager last season for the Pecos League’s travel team the Carlsbad Bats.

This will be his second stint as a manager in independent baseball.
