This week, the professional independent minor league baseball Can-Am League’s office announced that the 2011 schedule will have the new Rockland Boulders (Ramapo, NY) and the New York Federals (travel) on the schedule.  The Sussex Skyhawks, according to their website, will not field a team in 2011.

The Federals will be made up of players from the developmental New York State League as well as other sources.  The Can-Am League will have 8 teams this season:

  • Brockton Rox (returning)
  • New Jersey Jackals (returning)
  • New York Federals (travel, new team)
  • Newark Bears (new team, played in the Atlantic League in 2010)
  • Pittsfield Colonials (returning)
  • Quebec Capitales (returning, 2010 league champions)
  • Rockland Boulders (returning)
  • Worcester Tornadoes (returning)
