Pecos Bills And Carlsbad Bats Removed From Pecos League Schedule

The Pecos League has removed the Pecos Bills (Pecos Texas) from the 2013 schedule.  The announced return of the Carlsbad Bats travel (and neutral site) team has been canceled as well, since the Bats were brought in to balance out the schedule.  The league will have 8 teams this season, and realignment is still to be determined.

Reasons for the Bills delay until 2014, according to the league website, include:

  • housing issues due to demand for housing with the oilfield rush in the area
  • a new civic commissioner taking over after the Bills were announced
  • the risk of losing the stadium lighting contractor due to a delay in the decision with the new civic leaders

  1. Unbelievable. No, maybe it is with this circus act. The winter sport must be which “league” can change or default the most plans.

Don’t get me started. But still don’t expect a good balanced schedule, with needed days off included, even though it is staring Dunn right in the face.

Somebody from the northern division will have to be in the southern division, and guess how much travel team Taos was playing there already. Forget about spending time at home!!

  2. I wonder if the Bats’ hats got off the shelf. sounds like the league is starting with a deficit bottom line already. Don’t play there, boys!
