A recent news article crossed the financial wires about Godfather Media, Inc (ticker symbol “GFMD”).  The company is based in Mission Viejo, California and became the owners of the Yuma Panthers several weeks ago.  This week, the company announced that it is acquiring 60% of the ownership of the group which owns the Orange County Flyers.

The Flyers last played in the Golden Baseball League during the 2010 season, but they were dormant for the 2011 North American League season.  Should this news indicate that the team will play in 2012, then the Flyers will become the needed fourth team to comprise the 2012 NAL North Division schedule.  The Southern Division comprises of 6 Texas-based teams.

This is the first major news out of the North American League’s Northern Division since the announcement that Diamond Sports Entertainment is no longer involved with the NAL.
