News On Proposed West Virginia Frontier League Stadium

A recent public meeting was held in Parkersburg, West Virginia to discuss issues regarding the building of a new stadium for a Frontier League team, possibly in time for the 2014 season.  Many representatives of interested parties spoke at the team including Steve Swisher (former player) and the Wood County Development Authority representative.

A mention of the Billy Ripken Group was made regarding construction of the new stadium.  A comparison to the previous Frontier League team in the area, the Ohio Valley Redcoats, was made; and it detailed how the high school stadium back then was inadequate for professional baseball including the lack of beer sales.
