Last night, the Grand Praire Airhogs won the 2011 American Association title over the St. Paul Saints.  They won the series 3 games to 2, and here are articles with more information:

This is the second consecutive championship for manager Ricky VanAsselberg and general manager Craig Brasfield.  Both were at the helm in their respective positions last year for the Shreveport-Bossier Captains.  Both the Airhogs and Captains (as well as the Amarillo Sox) are owned by Southern Independent Baseball.

The Airhogs are now added to the page listing independent baseball leagues champions since 1993.
