Frontier League 2011 – Kalamazoo Out and Rockford In

Here are two articles from the Frontier League’s website regarding the 2011 season:

 

This confirms speculation that Rockford would leave the North American League and take Kalamazoo’s place on the 2011 Frontier League schedule.  There is no word yet about logistical concerns by having Rockford replacing Kalamazoo.

With the official confirmation, this leaves the North American League in a weird situation.  6 teams remain in the Western Division and 4 are left in the Eastern Division.  The 4 in the Eastern are 3 Texas teams from last year’s United League (Edinburg, Rio Grande Valley, and San Angelo) and the Lake County Fielders who are in Chicago.  There is no word about the Schaumberg Flyers and if they are officially folded, dormant, or if they will become a travel team.

The NAL schedule still has Rockford and Schaumberg on it, so any changes will be announced soon:
