Recently a post came out on the Pecos League site asking IndependentBaseball.net for thoughts on possible final win-loss positions of the 2013 Pecos League schedule. Since many of the teams’ player rosters are not yet finalized, a “best guess” effort was made based on the limited knowledge of the teams’ construction as well as the success of their managers and last year’s records. Every comment regarding each of the teams and their respective managers was favorable and complimentary, especially knowing that they each have limited resources as compared to other independent baseball teams.
Unfortunately, several misquotes were printed and none of the perceived (or actual) negative comments was ever made (in any manner) by this site or its owners, personnel, or contributors. What was published will be addressed and handled in private, so this will not turn into a “flame war” or other online property which publishes controversial content that never amount to anyone’s benefit (financial or otherwise). This website aims to always give quality, authoritative and helpful information to current and first-time fans of independent pro baseball. Such misquotes do not benefit anybody, especially as this site attempts to give independent baseball more exposure & legitimacy in the eyes of the sports fan who has yet to embrace any independent team or league.
We at IndependentBaseball.net respect and compliment all of the efforts that Ryan, Casey, Keith, Ernie, Chris, Bill, JD, and Matt are making and have made in the Pecos League or CBL (Ryan and Keith have experience managing in the now-defunct league). They are taking on a challenging schedule as well as are willing to go without several of the amenities of their fellow independent professional baseball managers and coaches. Should they have any questions regarding this issue then they are welcome to contact us privately to ensure that they receive accurate information. Thank you.
