Article About Worcester Tornadoes

A local article in the Worcester, MA area came out recently with quotes about the uncertainty of the future of the Can-Am League and the Tornadoes:

The article’s author cites low attendance in Newark and Pittsfield as major problems.

However Lev Schellenberger, one of the Tornadoes’ majority partners, was quoted as saying, “As long as the community here supports the team, then there will be professional baseball in Worcester.”

Should there be any merit to the concern then it will be added once confirmed.  There are no indications of any plans at this time for any of the current 2011 Can-Am League teams to fold or move for 2012.  Can-Am League officials even have discussed expansion by adding another Canadian team.  Once confirmed, any expansion plans will be announced on this site as well.
