The Peach State League is an in interesting within the independent baseball community.  It is not a full-fledged independent league in that:

  • all four of the teams are playing in the same stadium in Macon Georgia, presumably to reduce travel expenses
  • most, if not all, of the players are undrafted rookies or those with no affiliated baseball experience
  • the players will not be paid (according to team officials), but the teams will provide housing and instruction

Unlike a pay-to-play developmental league, like the Arizona Winter League or the New York State League, the Peach State is a league which will help its players during the summer.
