  1. It would be great to have regular baseball at the old Sandcastle again. Probably needs a LOT of work to freshen it up again. But plenty of parking available…a freat venue for concerts and such as well. And a nice way to visit the edge of the city WITHOUT getting into it too far.

The residents and businesses should welcome it again. Just needs adequate protection from either the police or an excellent security company. City folk CAN get to the stadium easily by public transportation as well…if they keep the prices affordable. The other alternative is to remake old Bacharach Park of the old Negro Leagues, but that probably isn’t an enviable spot anymore, even if right off a main entrance to the city. Not good for public transportation and would need a parking facility to enhance it.

Unfortunately where the Surf SHOULD have built is out at the old AC race track, still partly in operation for live racing one week each spring, and simucasting the rest of the year. HUGE parking lot could have a corner of it used for a modest stadium, and smack in the middle of a highly occupied commercial and residential community. Security would not be as needed. But I’m afraid that’s still a dream.

  2. If Boulton can revive Worcester and Sussex NJ venues, he’s half way to getting a six team “league” going. wonder where else he’s looking.

Really should consider Dover DE. Always thought it should be in the AL. I bet Ocean City MD could support something like this. Hmmm.
