The American West Baseball League announced this week that it has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with a party for a Northern California territory.  The announcement included the mention of a city needing to complete a feasibility study and a possible stadium being built for 2013.

There is no word on if this Northern California team would be involved in the 2013 season in some capacity, nor has it named a specific city or county.  With San Rafael being the only independent minor league pro baseball team in the Northern California region (no word on if the travel team Sonoma County Grapes will return), there is no word on if there would be any alliance with the Pacifics who are part of the North American League’s Northern division (possibly to be renamed the Pacific Baseball Association).
